3 APPROACHES TO EMOTIONS

We can cave up, cave in or tunnel through when approaching emotions. It is a good practice to make space for our emotions to work through them. Let bad days give us good data so we can tunnel through.

STEP 3: Notes

The 3 Approaches To Emotions:

The first reaction with emotions is to cave up. This takes place by not expressing true feelings or desires. It is going into the cave, hoping the storm will pass and it will all get better. It is avoidance.

The second reaction with emotions is to cave in. This is the reaction of giving in to emotions and often takes us into a funk. This lets feelings take charge. It is submission.

The third and only healthy way to address emotions is to tunnel through. A tunnel, unlike a cave, has two ends and constructively works through obstacles. It takes work but this approach will move to end resolve. It is resolution.
